Large Natural Amethyst Specimen

This stunning large Brazilian Amethyst cluster is totally unique and sold as seen. It would make a lovely addition to any home or in any setting with its vivid hues that range from a pale lilac through to deeper darker purples.

The cluster has some slight brownish iron oxide spots in places (see photographs for details), and these are nothing unusual and perfectly normal. The brownish spots are iron that started growing on the amethyst as it was forming. The iron simply mixed in with the primary composition of the amethyst itself (silicon and oxygen) and the other elements that give it the purple colouring: aluminium, manganese, etc. In Brazil Amethyst often forms in iron rich areas which explains the commonality of iron oxide spots within the amethyst.
